Tuesday February 9, at the Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, the former President of the Centro Scavi Antonio Invernizzi is going to present the book "Seleucia al Tigri. Le terrecotte figurate dagli scavi italiani e americani" by Roberta Menegazzi.

The Ancient Near East from Torino to Leiden. First International NINO-CRAST Workshop. Leiden, National Museum of Antiquities, December, 18, 2015.

The workshop that takes place in Leiden - presentation of the main research conducted by the Centro Ricerche Archeologiche e Scavi di Torino per il Medio Oriente e l'Asia and the Netherlands Institute for the Near East - is the first act of a five-years cooperation between the two institutes. The Centro Scavi is there represented by Stefano de Martino (The Spread of the Hurrian Language and Culture in Hittite Anatolia during the Early Imperial Age), Carlo Lippolis (The Italian Archaeological Project at Tulul al Baqarat, al Kut, Iraq) and Roberta Menegazzi (The Terracotta Figurines from Seleucia on the Tigris).

A cycle of seminars at the Université Lumière Lyon 2, Lyon


The director of the Iranian-Italian Joint Mission in Khuzistan, Vito Messina, is going to hold a cycle of seminars at the Université Lumière Lyon 2 in Lyon, France.

- Thursday, December, 17: "La royauté au Proche-Orient ancien après Alexandre le Grand".

Le missioni italiane in Turchia a cento anni dalla decifrazione della lingua degli Ittiti


Le missioni italiane in Turchia a cento anni dalla decifrazione della lingua degli Ittiti e la cooperazione dell'Università Suor Orsola Benincasa con le missioni italiane in Nordafrica. Naples, December 4, Sala Villani, via Suor Orsola, 10.

On the occasion of the European Year for Development and one hundred years after the deciphering of the Hittite language, the University Suor Orsola Benincasa of Naples and the Centro Ricerche Archeologiche e Scavi di Torino per il Medio Oriente e l'Asia dedicate a day to the presentation of the activities of the Italian expeditions working in Turkey on sites linked to the Hittite civilization. Part of the day will be devoted to the presentation of the projects of archaeological cooperation supported by the University Suor Orsola together with other Italian institutions in the Mediterranean countries of North-Africa.
