Turkmenistan Archaeological Expedition 2026

On May 28, the 2026 archaeological mission of CRAST at the site of Old Nisa has come to an end. The expedition, launched on April 25, is directed by Professor C. Lippolis. Stratigraphic activities focused on Sector M, opened in 2019 and located along the northern edge of the site, close to the city walls. In this area, investigations are bringing to light an official building, with evidence of stone architectural decorations and significant walls.
