The research of Centro Scavi

In Lebanon, the Centro Scavi Torino intervened by applying the methodologies prepared for the territory’s systematic study in the Baalbek area, making an interesting contribution to the reconstruction of the settlement’s history of this very important part of the Beka'a (or Biqa') Valley, from the Neolithic age to the early Umayyad period. What resulted is the model of an organization of the territory around the city of Baalbek that shows us how this area was divided according to an orientation that corresponded to that of the city and especially that of its great monumental complexes.
