Mission in Turkey

Stefano de Martino, President of CRAST, and his collaborators, Filippo Diara and Francesco Barsacchi, are currently at the Boğazköy Museum to continue their research project involving the study and creation of 3D models of Hittite sealed clay bullae bearing the impressions of the seals of kings and officials of the empire, preserved in the museum.

These models, obtained using photogrammetry and laser scanning, make it possible to reconstruct details such as the fingerprints of the individuals who molded the bullae, the manufacturing techniques employed, and the iconography impressed on their surfaces.
