The international conference brought the attention onto the information offered by the sealings ensembles of archival provenance as far as our knowledge of the archival practices of the Graeco-Roman world is concerned. The substantial evidence produced by recent excavations is a factual basis for the comparative study of the features of the findings within a wide chronological and geographic range, from Achaemenian Iran to the Seleuco-Parthian world, from Italy (Selinus) to Greece (Delos), from Cyprus (New Paphos) to Egypt (Fayyum), from Babylonia (Seleucia) to Central Asia (Göbekly depe).
